PROFILE
Gaurav brings with him experience across commercial litigation and arbitration, along with a focus on regulatory and advisory work in Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG), Food Safety & FMCG compliance, and Employment & Labour Benefits.
Having previously worked with Khaitan & Co and Trilegal, he has successfully represented clients in high-stakes disputes across various forums, including the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, the National Green Tribunal (NGT), arbitral tribunals, and labour courts.
He has also assisted domestic and international clients with pre-litigation advisory and non-contentious matters, including conducting legal due diligence, advising on regulatory frameworks, and navigating complex employment compliance issues.
REPRESENTATIVE CASES AND DEALS
Arbitration
Represented a German multinational technology company and an Austrian rail manufacturing company in high-stakes arbitration proceedings against the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited, including petitions filed under Sections 9 and 34 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 ("A&C Act") before the Delhi High Court for interim relief and the setting aside of the arbitral award.
Represented a client in a Special Leave Petition before the Supreme Court involving the 'Group of Companies' doctrine, leading to the landmark judgment in Cox & Kings Ltd. v. SAP India (P) Ltd..
Represented multiple clients at the pre-arbitration stage across various High Courts involving complex issues of conflicting seats of arbitration and exclusive jurisdiction.

Successfully represented a leading global technology company in an institutional arbitration against a public sector entity, securing an award allowing all claims made by the client amounting to INR 32 Crores.

Successfully defended a public sector insurance company and a private general insurance company in various arbitrations disputing the quantum of insurance payouts.
Represented a Korean steel company in a Section 34 petition under the A&C Act challenging an arbitral award issued after the commencement of CIRP under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.
Represented various clients in contractual disputes involving the applicability of force majeure and the frustration of contract.
